Representatives believe that everyone should have a voice. Courageous and well-spoken, the representative doesn’t mind being the face of their community, school, workplace, or issue. Once they realise: why not me? they step up to serve the needs and wishes of the people around them, and encourage others to get involved and speak up too. Great reps start by listening to those around them. What are the main issues facing your friends, colleagues, friends or classmates? How do people feel differently about them?

Representatives are not afraid of the spotlight – or they get used to it at least - and they make a difference by arguing their message until the right people are on board. The key skill of the representative is understanding the complex lives of many other people, and articulating a need in a simple but powerful way.
Brilliant leaders
Representatives are highly empathetic, excellent communicators and strategic thinkers. All while also growing a thick skin. But you don’t have to be elected to be a representative. For example, you could choose to represent a friend, your class or colleagues in a tricky conversation.
Impact door verhalen
Representatives zijn niet bang om in de schijnwerpers te staan (of ze raken er in ieder geval aan gewend). Door steeds met overtuiging hun verhaal te vertellen, kunnen ze de juiste mensen in beweging zetten. De belangrijkste skill van een Representative is het begrijpen van de veelzijdige levens van een grote groep mensen en om die behoeftes te vatten in sterke en begrijpbare taal.

Representatives zijn zeer empathisch, uitstekende communicators en strategisch denkers, ook leren ze goed omgaan met tegenslagen en kritiek. Om een Representative te zijn hoef je jezelf niet verkiesbaar te stellen, je zou bijvoorbeeld ook al een vriend, je klas of collega's kunnen vertegenwoordigen in een lastig gesprek.
